Yell Magazine

Yell was the BSW Newspaper

The YELL magazine was written and edited solely by BSW users. The YELL was first published in October 2002. Due to a low response rate, the newspaper was put on ice in April 2007 on ice since its format is now outdated (boardgame World magazine, RSS feeds, blogs, etc.).

YELL discussed innovations in BSW and various topics in and around BSW. Usually recurring themes included:

  • Information about BSW towns
  • The Metagame and the stock exchange
  • Guilds and their recommended tactics.
  • Fairness in BSW
  • New and old Games
  • Tips and tricks for games on the Web
  • Offline-Meetings
  • Puppet programming guides.
  • Lovestories: People who met through BSW?
  • Magazine: other fun activities

Other interesting artcles were also included which wouldn't normally be found on the BSW pages, such as, where can I find specific things in the forum, which new cities have been created. Moreover, there were always prizes to win and contests or puzzles.

You could order the newspaper directly in BSW by using the command " /orderyell e-mail address ." Soon after you would be sent the PDF document. The issues available are listed below as download links. To read YELL, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. The current edition of Yell could not be copied or redistributed as long as it has not yet released for download. Copying of text or images from YELL was only permissible with the consent of the authors and/or the editors.
