This evening at 5:54pm CDT Kimberly De Spain Winn passed away  Cry

She was a very kind person.  I'd like to write more but I'm just too sad right now, thinking about her Husband and children.

She was only 38 years old, far too young.   Cry

Hello!

I'm very sad, because kimmiekaye passed away tonight.

As ET mayor, she had a lot of tells with me; and she
was always kind and happy. She always offered virtual
chocolate to me and was chatting about this and that.
I got the impression, that she's a very nice person.

We were also talking about her mean illness and that
I was just finishing work for a new cancer treatment
center. Some months ago, she mentioned, that her cancer
came back again, still looking forward to her future,
although it was a tough diagnosis. She said, that she
will fight it again. But then she had to lay down her
mayor job and step back from BSW. Today it came to an end.

I'll remember her happiness and kindness...

May she rest in peace. And may her family stand the new situation.

Greetings, SLC

RIP Kimmie!

My thought are with her family and friends.

Also with ET.

Oh, how terribly sad.  My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

Why isn't Anne announcing this in the town channel message?

kimmiekaye was one of my dearest friends here.  And although those closest to her knew the end was growing near, it does not make it any easier.

I would like to make sure that she is remembered not only for her great spirit, but also I want everyone to be aware of all that she did for EnglishTown while she was here with us.

kimmiekaye was involved for 2-3 years as part of the town council and in some additional roles.  She was deputy mayor for many months for Jonathan and bliss (I think).  When she finally became mayor, her illness became debilitating and she had to step away. She was trying to design a new website for EnglishTown and had made a lot of progress.

kimmiekaye acted almost as caretaker for the town, as she was always looking to make sure our towns people were properly housed - an ongoing task that had to be reviewed almost daily as farm houses and town houses disappeared, and making sure ET was not taxed for the homeless.  Tracking down those people took a lot of time when they were discovered.  She was also sure to get everyone housed when they joined ET.

It was kimmiekaye who designed the large purple flower bed spelling out EnglishTown and the landscaping around it.  She helped keep the tradition going of putting out Christmas trees around town at Christmas time.  She added all the new places for trophies around the stadium.  Now the pressure is on our City League team to fill them up.   Wink

kimmiekaye also was instrumental in getting the second row of villas built.  We can only build about one of these per month so it took some time.  She was always looking to spiff up the town wherever she could.

She would take time to help people learn games and help new players to BSW learn their way around.  She was a lot of fun.  Usually a very positive person in spite of her condition.  She really enjoyed BSW.

I can't list everything that she did here.  There is not enough space.  She was a bright spot for us.  She was one of the people who could get a friendly conversation going with anyone in the main chat window.  I will miss her.

Wow.  What a terrible shame, I had no idea.

It's a bit late, but I wanted to pass on my company info in case it becomes relevant to others.  We work with patients who have cancer, usually metastatic, to try to find customized therapies based on detailed genomic analysis of their tumor biopsy.  It's a fairly new approach and we can't promise results - and we don't accept any patient whose oncologist is not on board with the approach (though after a conversation, most of them are.)  It's not inexpensive (just like many other "new" things) but we are organizing some research studies with several major institutions (which, when up and running, might be free if the patient fits the criteria) and also can also help the patient do internet-based fundraising.

Also, as things have gotten more busy you've probably seen me less in BSW, though I am not absent entirely.  Also moved to CA where I'm 9 hrs from Germany and so playing in leagues - which is much of what I was doing on BSW - is too logistically hard.  I will try to play in a few BSWS events, and have agreed to run a DSDE event.  (Need German speaker + someone familiar with tournament software to help - PM me.
