This is very helpful in determining what we should build for a new gameroom!

I think clearly, it is good for us to finish townhall first, as we already have gamerooms for the vast majority of games we play (Tichu/Doko/PR/LC)

We'll probably have another month to watch how many of what games e play before having to decide, which is good.

It seems to me the top games to choose from are: Ligretto, TA, cant-stop, CCJuS, Fuersten.  (In terms of #games played)

I think that those which arent good resource providers, we can play in other towns when we want to play them, without much loss.  Cant-stop for example...I dont think that one would be a good one to build a room of.
Its not very quick, has lots of downtime when playing, and has a low resource multiplier.

I would like a CCJuS room, it would go good with our CCE room. Also, I expect we'll get a bit of ARMfelders in it. And if they make it better than the 10points/2x mult of the other CC's, it'll be a great one to get.

Also, I think Fuersten is a great choice.  I would play it more myself if we had the room, and its a 4x multiplier, like Puerto Rico.

I've got to 10 TA, so I wont be playing it much anymore...

I would have thought we'd have a lot more KUK, since I think I've played 5 of those 9 games...
Also, the 18 games of Dvonn: I account for half of those, and the other half was my opponents, from EC Smiley  Just trying to get to 10...

I think that good choice for gamerooms might be the coming new games, Emerald and Medina.  (If we like them after playing them, and they are decent resources/points of course)  Emerald in particular looks fun to me Smiley

Hello,

This is indeed useful information. As Alexfrog pointed out, we don't have any choice for a new game to make right now, but it may be useful as early as next month.

It is nice to see that our most common games (Tichu, PR, Doko and LC) are already in the town. I don't think duplicating any of these (or triplicating, for PR) would make much sense considering how many other games we would like to have.

I think I account for most of the 87 Ligretto games, so I doubt we really need a dedicated house in our town. I am not sure about how many different players have been involved in the 64 TA games. As Alexfrog, I played a few of them, but probably won't play many more.

Fuersten and CC-JuS seem to be the most logical choices so far. But wouldn't we play more, say, Meuterer or KUK if we had our own room?

As for the incoming games, I don't know Medina and have played a few games Emerald FTF. Not a great game, but a nice one, in my opinion.

I would definitely play more KUK if we had a room of it.

I would probably play a little Mueterer too if we had it, I've played 2 times and would get to 10 if we had the room, but its not my favorite.

I would recommend against TA because its too simple in my opinion, its good to play 10 times, but after that its kindof boring, so people would play it some but then stop.

I think its important that whatever we buy we're going to want to keep playing , like what we seem to do with PR, Doko, Tichu, LC

Ack, no! I love TA, it is one of my most played games (28 times in the last month). I know that JesterKing and a couple others from Seattle play it a lot too. It is a great filler game that only takes ~20 minutes to play.

Having said that, I think Princes is the best choice for first game, followed by TA (of course!), and I'd also like to see a Verrater room. I just learned how to play this, but it seems like a quicker and simpler Puerto Rico. Not sure what the multiplier is, though. Incidentally, I also account for many of those Can't Stop games... Maybe we just have different tastes in games. Smiley

Well, I think TA is alright, but I much prefer Puerto Rico.
PR doesnt take much longer than TA, and I like it much better, in addition to it giving 4x resources compared to TA's 2x, and 1 pts instead of 10 (takes about 50% longer, so its a little better than TA in the respect of resources).  Still, TA wouldnt be bad to have if enough people wanted it.  I would play it occasionally.

For a quick filler game however, I much prefer Lost Cities.
Its much faster ~5 mins, gives more resources per unit time, and double the points per unit time (assuming 5 min LC and 20 min TA)  Also, its easier to find 2 players for a filler game than 3.  My favorite other 3 players are KUK or Fuersten. When I have 2 others to play something with, I'd choose PR over TA.  with 1 other, I'd go for LC.  With 4 players, I like Doko/Tichu best, and sometimes PR (thoguh Fuersten would come in there too if we had it).

I would not fight a TA room, however.  I think I just got sick of it after the 10 games I played last month, I could probably do a couple a month.

I dont know Verrater, maybe I should learn it, if people think its good?  If we get a room of it, I'll learn it for sure.

AS for cant stop, I think its a pile, and I'm not going to be playing it.  (My 100% win percent will stay forever, thank you! (1-0)) The reasons: 1) you sit there for a long time when its not your turn, and there is nothing to think about. I hate that! 2) if people keep falling, the game can take a LONG time.  I dont wat to sit there and play for a long time on a game with a 1x resource multiplier and 3 pts, especially when most of the wait time is me just sitting there waiting for someone to fall or end turn.  I think its fine if people play it in other cities.  But it is about the worst resource to time ratio of any game on BSW, as far as I can tell.  (Its a lot slower than a hand of tichu, but gives the same pts/resources)

So my argument against cant stop is that its not very economical for the town to spend lots of resources on a game room for it,when it wont pay back very much.  Better to build the games that provide good resources that we play, and go to the ones that provide little resources in other cities.  That way, we save our cheap game rooms builds for games we really like.  I would prefer any of: Fuersten, KUK, Mueterer, CCJuS, TA, Bluff, new games coming soon to BSW such as Medina/Emerald, or even *any random game I dont know* to having cant stop.

Ok, now that I have expressed my dislike of cant stop.... Smiley

anyway, we'll have another month to decide.
So we'll see what gets played a lot duing november as well.  Also, we'll see how much CCJuS we play this next month to decide if its really worth it.

I've been playing TA only so I could help people get 10 games in it.

I'd play more KuK if there was a room.

I'm concerned that Ligretto plays poorly if the connection to BSW is bad (i.e. lag).

I like Mueterer and would definitely play it more.

Someone teach me Fuersten.
