This one lists the number of players who signed up per event, so you can check if an event will need a QUALIFICATION ROUND or if there are still FREE PLACES for it. There are links to threads where you have to sign up for the free places. This free places aren't affected by the town limit and you can sign up personally.

This one shows information about the QUALIFICATION ROUNDS. There are links to the threads where details are given about those qualification rounds. Games needing pre-olympics are: Alhambra, Attika, Puerto Rico, Ra, Siedler, Tichu, Transamerica.

Who has to qualify for the olympic games?

Each city with at least 2 participants has to send 1 player to the qualification (the mayor should post the name into this thread). One player will be drawn who gets a free seat at the olympic games.


Process and mode:

Each round there will be 4 games with 4 players. The preliminary round consists of 5 rounds, so that any player has to play against each other player exactly one time. The starting player and the seat order will be random (/option drawseat). After the game please don't leave the room/game, unless a referee allows you to do so.

There will be 4-2-1-0 points to gain each game. One players points of all 5 games will be added, and the sum determines who can go to the olympic games (7 players will drop out, 9 can play at the olympic games).

I may have a problem.  I have a conflict which I had not noticed on 9 December when I am scheduled to be playing in both the Alhambra and PR events simultaneously.

I cannot believe that I had not noticed this earlier.

What should I best do?

You have done the best you can by warning us when you noticed.  

The next step is telling me, which game will you play at last and we will search for a substitute for the other. Of course, you would be of great help if you provided one, just in case.

Alhambra had a qualifier the past week. Are you sure that you qualified?  Also, since they just did a qualifier, the guild might not have a problem if you drop out, they could just add the next person on the qualification list.  

So this might not be a problem.

I think so, but I am happy to drop out of Alhambra and play PR (despite being a better Alhambra player than a PR player).  The only game I knew I had a qualification problem with was Attika when I was out of town during the qualification round. (Though I am happy to be an alternate for Attika).

Since you didn't play qualification games for Alhambra it seems like PR will be the game. But if it shows that we need an reserve for Alhambra it seems like you could be the one...
