The next inter-city league on BSW begins September 6. As I understand it, there will be 13 weeks of games plus a 2-week break in the middle for teams to get caught up on incomplete games and also a break during the BSW Olympics.
Like the previous league, each city will play 2 matches per week. In each match, the home team picks 6 different games from the list of 12 and assigns six different players to play. The visiting team then assigns six different opponents. The two players then find a time during the week to meet and play their game. Most games are played in the best-of-3 format, but its up to the players to agree on a format. A couple games will have a mandatory minimum best-of-3 format this round.

Attika, Backgammon, Cafe International, Can' t Stop, Carcassonne-Expansion, Dvonn, Ghosts, Ligretto, San Juan, StreetSoccer, Tongiaki and TransAmerica
Our team will need a captain who will be responsible for picking the games and players, e-mailing matchups to other captains, reporting scores, and resolving any issues. I served that role for the first league, but Im looking to take a break from it and just be a player this time. For the previous league, I assigned the matchups each week. I tried to incorporate skill, enthusiasm, variety of games, and other factors each week. Other captains contacted players for each game to confirm their availability for play. No matter how its done, I think the tasks can be accomplished in 1-2 hours per week. If youre interested in serving as the captain, please indicate that in your post. I will gladly offer any advice and can help fill in if needed.
It would be best to have at least 12-15 players to help keep the team filled when players are away for vacations and such. One of the biggest challenges we faced in the first league was finding opponents online. For the North American players it was especially tough since most of the other players are from Germany and the time zones dont match well. Having a larger team will mean we can spread the games amongst more people and thus give players time to get caught up on games if they get behind.
