It now seems possible to have custom level titles for our town. I wanted to see how people felt about this. I don't think we need them. In fact I rather like the fact that the title now reflects if you speak English or German. I like Killmuse being a "Knight" will mitnachtKAUHO-I is a "Ritter".

What does everyone else think about custom level titles?

If life is a game, God made it a quite complexe one. He must have had a hard time working it out. The big question is: if it IS a game, shouldnt we take the small things less serious and have some fun?

To be honest, I find the different ranks to be a mild irritant.  The rank shows up when someone in your list logs in or in the description of their house.  Whenever it does, I find myself wondering "what W# does that represent", but have enough trouble memorizing one list of ranks, let alone several.

Hmmm ... this will probably seem too "tacky" to most, but I would be tempted to incorporate the W# into the level.  I would even be happy with just W12 instead of a linguistic "rank", but I digress.

Not a big issue to me, just a mild irritant.

I'm with SpaceSquirrel on this one -- mild irritant. I'm rarely interested in the levels, but when I do look at something there are now four different terms for each rank (German/English x female/male). I have to look things up and translate to figure out what level someone is.

If we were to make up custom levels, then it should follow our city theme - Wizard of Oz. Start out as a Munchkin, work your way up to Ruby Slipper, Toto, and Flying Monkey. As nobility, you could be a Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion/ess, Tin Man/Woman, and eventually Wizard.  Grin

I don't like custom titles either. I'm not too fond of the recent change they have done (display English titles for players who set up their client in English), and don't think we should change them even more.

Elttil's suggestion about a Wizard of Oz theme sounds like fun, though, but I would rather not see it done for real: I still prefer the normal titles.
