All participants in the Olympics should check the gilde webpages for the events they signed up for.  The qualifications are starting this week but may not take place for another two weeks.  Some require the attendance on a particular day, others are more flexible.

We could do with some help here, for those who haven't competed before. I just happened to be contacted by a Streetsoccer opponent, which was the first I knew of any Qualifications. The forums are not the best place for non-german speakers. I still have no idea what's going on.
Luckily, Lardarse was around to help, but he's not even an ET member anymore!
Can we have a post in here for those of us who have to qualify, or is that really a lot of work (I've genuinely no idea)

I made a post for De Lage Landen with all qualifying rounds in it. And for the roughly 10 participants that was a lot of work (about 3 hours)! I can't imagine how much it will be for a city like ET.

The problem is that almost all setups are different from one another.. posted on different sites... mostly only in German.

The best place to start is the (german) kwalification schedule. Most kwalifications are spread out over the period and people have to find their opposites, e.g. the easiest to follow is the setup for Cafe and all the Carcassonne disciplines found here.

Those kwalifications that are spread out are called fliessend/fließend in German and are the ones on the top of the page. The other ones have one or more fixed times and dates, because of the problem of getting groups of 3 or more people together for a game. All games have a link to the forum or website where the setup is explained.

The most urgent one to figure out is the biathlon kwalification on tuesday night 19:00 CET (and of course the registration for TA, but that one is in English Grin).

Good luck with the rest of them.

I would suggest if you have questions about the event qualifier to either post a question in the guild forum for that event, or contact the person running that event.  If you look in the guild forums, you'll see the the registration pages for the events.  The person that posted the registration topic will be the player in charge of that event.  You can add them to your watch list and ask them directly when they log on.

Please keep in mind, that running the olympic events takes effort and the people doing are volunteering their time to run the event.  So, please make all requests polite and courteous.

The event organizers want a sucessful event, so they'll have a desire to answer your questions.

No, but I am loyal to my friends...

As well as the german schedule that Glop posted, it's also useful to check out the guild forums for more information (particularly relevant for the CantStop qualifiers, because there will be 3 events, and only 1 is on the timetable)

The "floating" (fließend) events are less urgent than the fixed events, altough earlier is always better. (Note that the CC events become floating if you can't make it to the main qualifier)

And as for what is happening with the Biathlon, I haven't got a bloody clue! All I know is to restart teh computer at 4, join /channel Biathlon at 5, and be ready to start at 6...

Now, if you don't mind me, I need some sleep...

fx4m missed the biathalon qualifier.

He had to work ...

Next Olympics the qualifier schedule has to be posted ahead of time, just like the regular schedule, so people can decide if they can make both.

I had to yell and scream (twice) so I could make the TA tourney, and then the TA qualifiers (and I'm the guildmaster and helping to run the thing...)

I failed to qualify in Cafe and St P.  Luck was definitely not on my side.    Cry Cry Cry

7 Dec - I qualified to be the 1st substitute in St P.  If anyone does not show up, I get to play.   Smiley

Not to brag, but I think I qualified for San Juan.  I played 5 out of 6 qualifiers, and without stressing my skill at a game where luck plays no factor whatsoever Roll Eyes, I won four best of 3 matches 2-0, and lost one 1-2.

Hi!

Zitat
it's also useful to check out the guild forums for more information (particularly relevant for the CantStop qualifiers, because there will be 3 events, and only 1 is on the timetable)

My postings and corrections didn't make the links work.
Sorry for that, but the olympic page is sometimes out
of date (and I can't change things as a CS GM! Grin)...

There's still one CantStop event next sunday, see the forum
(where the threat start english because of 7 or 9 towns
participating, that are national towns (e.g. Terra Brasilis
for brazil, DeLageLanden for the netherlands, ChinaTown for china,
EnglishTown, Smallville, etc...)

Greetings, SLC
