Due to some recent changes in my work situation, I will be unable to continue as mayor, at least for some time. I won't be participating on the council at all for the immediate future.

I will continue to log on and play games, just not nearly as often as I have in the past. I had a great time serving as your Deputy Mayor and Mayor. However, I need to step aside at this time.

Elttil offers a big round of applause for Nicias's service as our Mayor and Deputy Mayor over the past several months.    I'm glad to hear you'll still be on BSW playing games, and I hope your work situation allows you to become more involved again in the future.

With Nicias's departure, we'll have two openings on the town council on May 1 -- the Mayor position, and the new Warehouse Manager position. Therefore, we need some new munckins to step up and help run Emerald City.

Mayor - Nicias
Deputy Mayor - reikja
Treasurer - porcupine
Chief of Security - mitnachtKAUBO-I
Ambassador - Elttil

Here's a brief summary of what each position does:

Mayor - $200/month

• Appoints rest of council
• Admits new citizens
• Constructs buildings along with Treasurer

Deputy Mayor - $100/month

• Same tasks as Mayor
• Pins options in game rooms

Treasurer - $100/month

• Constructs buildings along with Mayor/Deputy Mayor
• Sets city taxes (which are 0% in Emerald.City and will hopefully remain that level...)

Chief of Security - $100/month

• Manages ban list
• Removes inactive citizens

Ambassador - $100/month

• Sets the mill and forge
• Buys/sells goods at the market
• Trades goods with other towns

Warehouse Manager (new positions as of May 1) - $100/month (?)

• Moves goods to/from warehouses and market place
• ? ? ?

If anyone knows of other tasks that should be added to these lists, please post them. As far as I'm aware, none of the positions take a lot of time. The Ambassador and Warehouse Manager will need to be on BSW frequently, but the tasks they perform don't take long.

For any munchkins who are interested in serving on the town council, please add a post indicating which position(s) interest you.

P.S. from reikja: there are rumours another member of the council will be able to set the mill, so the "hard" work
(serving cookies, all the baking stuff...) will be separated...

I would like to throw my hat in the ring for Warehouse Manager.  I think it would be fun (as you saw from my many posts).

I am usually on 5+ days a week.  The last few weeks have been busy (both my kid's birthdays, wedding ann., and family getting sick for a week.), but I'm starting to gear up again.

I will also do the Ambassador, if Elttil moves on to other duties.

As for myself, I'm willing to take on any of the town council positions. I'm happy being the ambassador, but if we want to shuffle things around a bit, I'll gladly take on one of the other roles. Yes, I'm willing to be the mayor -- mainly because it means I would get to work the mill again.

In case anyone isn't aware, each citizen can cast a vote for mayor. For example:
/vote SpongeBob
You can vote as many times as you like, but only your last one counts. I don't think there is a way to exclude yourself from the election. Whoever has the most votes on the last day of the month becomes the new mayor.

To the great disappointment of political pundits and major news networks, there is no way to see how many votes each person has until the final tally is complete.

I am willing to take on some job for our city.  But I won't do anything just to get a forest in front of my house (it's not settler after all.....)

Seriously: I can take on a job, but I will not be around enough for the next two months to be mayor. I can log in daily but I won't be able to spend a lot of time online until the beginning of June (than my availability will increase). So a bit of responsibility is fine, but mayor is probably a little bit much for now.

So if EC needs me, I am willing to take up the burden of an official role (but preferably not mayor) but I am also happy as an ordinary Munchkin if there are enough people to fill the posts.

I'm joining the crowd: Thank you so much for all the work you've done for EC those past months Nicias!

Concerning the jobs: I'm happy to keep working for the city. I'm not sure I'd want to be mayoress (my vote to Elttil   .  I guess we need to find a new ambassador ... ). The new mayor can then keep me as treasurer, or send me home

Thanks.  I also mentioned Ambassador because he and the Treasure have the same ability to move resources as the WM.  So I could help manage the resources and trade as well.

If it turns out that the Ambassador won't be able to move resources then I'd rather be WM.
