The tiebreaker in our cup match with ParadiseCity was SanktPetersburg, and it was really close...

Lardarse: 135VP, 8$
TanteElly: 135VP, 26$

ParadiseCity win 8:6

So, we're out... But at least we got 1 round further than we did last year...

As LA said, we are out of the city cup.  We made it to the final 16 which is darn good. Grin We almost had PC, LA's game was close on the tie breaker and I was up 10-2 or 10-1 in my TA game and I couldn't close the deal. Sad

The cup will be ours someday.  I can smell it. Grin

On the other hand the league is still going on.  We have only match left and I just heard from MagicTown that the games they picked are BG, LG, DV, LC, CS, SP  LA and I will match that up with players shortly.

Current standings (Wins = 2 pts, Ties = 1 pt):

Reality-Town 25 pts (16 matches played)
EmeraldCity  20 pts (14 matches played)
LasVegas     19 pts (13 matches played)
ChinaTown    18 pts (16 matches played)
Babylon      16 pts (16 matches played)
Dragontown   16 pts (15 matches played)
Meridain     14 pts (15 matches played)
VOICES       14 pts (16 matches played)
MagicTown    13 pts (15 matches played)
Andoria      12 pts (16 matches played)
7Heaven       8 pts (14 matches played)
Reflection    1 pts (12 matches played)

The top three spots are still up for grabs.  Reality-Town does have a lead over us and Vegas, but it can be done with a little help. Wink

Also note that a lot of the teams trying to catch us (ChinaTown, Babylon and Dragontown), have finished more matches then us and still haven't caught us on pts, which is a good sign.

I just wanted to say, reguardless of how this finishes up, that I think everyone has done a great job.  Without going back to my first post, the goal I had for the team was 5th place.  It was (I thought) a good goal that we could make considering the strengths of last year's team and the new Munchkins that we added in the off-season.  One of my favorite quotes is: Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory.  I thought it would be a good idea to set a goal and see if we could make it.

However, to be right in there fighting for one of the top spots is really great and everyone deserves a pat on the back.  Everyone has done a great job, reguardless of how many games you won or loss.  If you are not happy with your record I guarantee that you are facing some really hard players and if we had someone better to play that game, we would schedule him/her and give you some easier players (because no one likes losing).

Sorry if this goes on for a bit, over the past weeks I have got some comments from players, who have lost about as many games as they won, who wondered if they were helping the team or not.  I know it is hard to see from your angle, but this is a 'team sport' and it would be a loss to us if any one of us was not here.

All that said, we have a few more games to finish.  Let's see if we can finish up strong and keep this high spot.

Most of all: Have Fun!!!! Smiley Which is the most important goal of all.

Hi guys,

well I wanted to write a really depressed post about losing to delfinchen from VOICES 0-3, but reading Pauls post...You are right, Paul Smiley
I still kick myself for not winning this cause it was close every game, but she was the better player this time.
Sorry guys, for losing, but we will win the long run Smiley

Jocy, who is still looking back at this game with mixed feelings

Jo, if there is one person who shouldn't be depressed it's you.  I used to own you in Cant Stop and now you totally kick my butt. Shocked

You beat some darn good players this year, you could lose whatever game(s) you have remaining and it would be safe to say that you had a heck of season. Smiley

As expected, I lost my sacrificial Dvonn match to Mokkel of Reality-Town 7-28. Actually not too bad considering I thought he might completely wipe me out. Smiley

If life is a game, God made it a quite complexe one. He must have had a hard time working it out. The big question is: if it IS a game, shouldnt we take the small things less serious and have some fun?

I lost against Amon 0:2 but I learned something.

After my player jumped from the baseline I complained because I thought it was a bug. Believe me, I was prepared to yell at this guy once back in the dressing room after the game... Grin. I was ready to sack him!

But I learned that they always do that. I never saw it before, and this after almost 100 Street Soccer games!

A string of losses, but if you are going to lose at least we are doing it right and everyone is losing to the same city for the most part.

First place Reality-Town is now smoking us 5 games to our nothing, for our first loss of the second half.

Lardarse - Spawnluebck 2:1 in SJ

Not quite sure how I managed to split the first 2 games, without seeing a rathauss in either of them, but I did, and I got them both very quickly in the 3rd and held on to win.
