I think if it is not important to Esterio it is not worth the hassle. Otherwise we can give it a try.

I really don't think it is worth fighting about that. There are other games, there will be other games, and other cities will probably more willing to have it. I am glad that we are still hosting the Go guild even if I don't play Go myself (yet), but I don't think it is worth worrying about getting a second guild.

And although it might seem strange to some, I plan to remain a member of the PR guild.

Thanks to all for the info about the Guild Halls. I didn't realize it would be a big challenge to host one and I assumed it would go the other way with a guild searching for a city to host it's hall. I don't see a need to press the issue of hosting it, especially since it will cost almost half our available resources and it's not a big deal to Esterio.

Now who was it that hijacked this thread about Caylus and turned it into a guild hall discussion?

Elttil whistles innocently.

Well, the Caylus Guild has been formed with Andragon as the initial GM and krieg the 2nd to join.

It may be worth offering to build the Guild Hall here for the symbolic reasons (and since we seem to be playing it quite a bit), but as others have said, probably not worth really fighting for.

Am I remembering correctly that the town receives 1 taler for each game played?  Given how long the games take, it could take quite some time for the hall to "pay for itself".  I'm guessing Caylus will be played a lot for a while and then settle down somewhere a bit below PR and SJ in # of plays (but probably above Funke).

Enough babbling, must sleep now.

The guild receives 1 taler for each game played in a town (not an ARMFeld room), but the town that hosts the guild hall doesn't receive anything.

Back to Caylus...nice review Paul. I just made a post about a typo. Oh, I just noticed something else, a reference at the bottom to BBG instead of BGG. Amazing how the eyes gloss over stuff once you've written it -- I do it all the time. I guess that's why professional editors exist. Grin

Emerald City now has a much needed second Caylus room in Alexfrog's house, C41-21!  Cheesy

Alex formerly had Emerald in his house, so we're now looking to get it back in town since Emerald City obviously needs an Emerald room.  Wink

The command is changegame, and you must be in your house:
/changegame CandyLand

However, jonty hasn't put a game in his house yet, so I sent him an e-mail to see if he's interested in Emerald. Neither Emerald nor Niagara are very high on the EC play list, but they both get some action each month. PaulW can provide more details if anyone's interested in usage data.

Nicias, I'd suggest you go ahead and switch to Emerald if you like, but my fear is that through poor timing we might end up with two Emerald rooms. If you don't mind waiting until we hear from jonty that would be helpful.
