All the German I know I learned on BSW.

I love carving pumpkins each year for Halloween and usually end up making several. Not content to just place them on my front porch, I wanted one at my BSW house as well. I found a nice gif on the internet, touched it up a little for BSW, and replaced one of the rarely used graphics. Now I see the jack-o-lantern in my garden. Everyone else will see the normal white rocks or flowers (can't tell which), but I know there's a pumpkin there.  Smiley

If you want one, just right click on the image below and save the file to the newcityPics directory under the Brettspielwelt directory. On a Windows PC with a normal installation, it's "C:\Program Files\BrettspielWelt\newcityPics". If you're not sure, just search for the file nobj22.gif and put this one in the same directory.

Then, to preserve the orginal file, nobj22.gif, rename it to something like nobj22orig.gif. Once that is done, rename nobj22jol.gif to nobj22.gif. Log back in to BSW and you'll see the jack-o-lantern in place of the original graphic.

Happy Halloween!

*dances around*
that is sooooo neat, Elttil!
I have one now and can see yours :-)) fantastic.
maybe its possible that we find a little something for each season to place there...like a snowman for winter and so on.
(*admits to being clueless about how that works, but thinks its a nice thing)

Happy Halloween!

If life is a game, God made it a quite complexe one. He must have had a hard time working it out. The big question is: if it IS a game, shouldnt we take the small things less serious and have some fun?

hm, BSW usually offers a variety of Chirstmas trees and I remeber I have seen Easter eggs in Elttils frontyard lately..

So please go ahead decorating EC. For those without intentions to do so - well, try some gardening instead!   Grin

From the over-doing it department...

For the fun of it, I replaced one of the common tree images and now EC is being invaded by jack-o-lanterns! Shocked  Grin

I then wondered if animated gifs would work, so I dropped this little guy into my garden.

Unfortunately, the animation only occurs while the mouse is being moved over an object with a pop-up description such as a building. Oh well, it was worth a try.

Now I'm wondering if there are people who've replaced the whole graphics set with new pics. Someone from TheGreatWhiteNorth made a winter graphics set with snow on everything. I used it last year and thought it was really cool. Wink Unfortunately, it won't work any more with the graphic changes that happened last spring. Maybe there are lots of replacement sets out there and I just don't know about them. Just imagine the possibilities...different seasons, science fiction theme, Looney Tunes theme, etc. Useless, but lots of fun.  Smiley

It would be better if the image that you use is exactly the same size as the image that you are replacing.

A complete replacement set of images would be a lot harder this time, because there is a lot more to replace.

Halloween has come and gone, but here in the US Thanksgiving is fast approaching so I replaced my jack-o-lantern with a turkey.

I'll be sure to make the "nice" list this year if I put this guy in my yard.  Grin

Here's another:

And I found these former official ones in an old directory:

The big Christmas tree doesn't work too well because it's so much taller than the original image (the trunk ends up underground). I guess the anchor point is at the top of the image.

Which is why it's important to get an image that is the correct size...

Zitat
And I found these former official ones in an old directory:

Ignore those because they have been added back in to the official graphic set. You can find them on the object (objekte) tab of the build tool. There's also a non-descript green blobby thing which I think is a bush that perhaps has an ornament or two on it. I really can't tell what it is, so I planted one in the front of my garden.  Grin

any chance to find an image to replace Santa?

I replaced my Santa with the snowman I posted above. He looks a little out of place since the rest of our city is green, but I still like it. If you search the internet for clip-art gif images, there are millions to be found. The challenge is finding some with the right size and perspective.
