Discordia

The game

In Discordia you develop your city through the construction of farms, barracks, towers, ports and markets as well as the ship trade. For this you have 4 passages (years) time.

To win the game prematurely, you can't have characters in your stock anymore.

Otherwise you win the game after the end of the 4th. Year, you should have the fewest figures.

At the beginning, you all take one of the outlying urban platelets one after another and put it on a corresponding free field of your city plan.

Stadtplaettchen

The game runs over a maximum of 4 rounds (years), each year consists of 5 seasons.

In every season, each one of you is on the train to carry out its actions.

The active player is looking for one of the 3 exposed dice and using it for its actions.

The passive players can use one of the two remaining dice for their actions.

The selectable cubes and the possible actions you see at the bottom right of your city plan when you are in the row.

You can select the cube by clicking, then confirm the actions and optionally by hooks.

After that, the seasonal boat continues a field and the next becomes active player.

When the season boat reaches the field of 4. Season, all missing urban plates are filled up and the 2nd German platelet is exposed.

After the end of 5. The events will be held at the end of the year and a new year will begin.

If none of you could win the game prematurely by having no more characters, the game ends at the end of the 4th. Year.

Actions

The number of eyes of the selected cube indicates which action options you have.

There is a maximum of one main action and some side actions at your disposal.

You have free choice in which order you carry out your actions.

a) Take the town platelets

You take one of the town plates out of the column of the selected cube, place this town platelet on a correspondingly free space of your city or cover an old town platelet of the same variety.

A ship is placed on a port.

If a ship is completely occupied with figures, they will go back to the general stock at the end of your train. After that you turn the ship (market stand) and put it on a free marketplace of your city.

This new market stand will take you one step on the aqueduct.

b) Sending away

You send figures to a ship, market stand, farm or barracks:

The action plate in the column of the selected cube specifies to which platelet type you can send figures. You're exactly sending them in a field

a city plated printed figures. To do this, you will place the figures from your stock in the field of the town plate. This means that the field is considered occupied.

City plates can have 1 – 3 fields, which can be occupied with 1 – 3 figures. The first field of a town plate is always the upper one. Others may follow clockwise.

If a gray figure is shown, it may have any color.

If you do not have the required variety or number in your figure stock, you must not perform this action.

c) Urban development

City extensions enlarge the city and offer further space for corresponding city plates, extend your development bar or the expedition path.

d) Develop

You put a star from your stock in the lowest free spot of your development bar and get the corresponding bonus.

e) Star(s) take

This action allows you to take 1 or 2 stars from the star cult field into your stock, if still available.

Contributions

Sub-actions may only be carried out under certain conditions.

a) Special delivery

Color + value of the chosen cube correspond exactly to that of the town platelets you own (Cast: blue cube, barracks: red cube, market position: any cube - gray, farm: yellow):

You can do exactly one special posting for each of these platelets, even to platelets you only purchased in this train.

b) Seasonal boat

If the value of the selected cube corresponds to the field where the seasonal boat is located, you will receive the corresponding bonus:

  1. You set 1 star from your stock on the expedition path
  2. you get 1 step on the aqueduct
  3. you take 1 tower
  4. you take 1 star from the star cult field
  5. you can trade two characters.

c) Bonus: Several urban extensions

If you have your 4th or 6th urban development, you may take one of the privileges you have and, depending on the type, use them immediately or permanently.

d) Expedition and development

Certain fields of the development bar or the expedition path give you a one-time or permanent bonus.

You fill in your train or by the event at the end of the year a pending decree:

You take the fulfilled decree to you and cover the lowermost uncovered field of your city.

That might give you a bonus. If all your 4 secret fields are covered, you can no longer fulfill any other decrees.

Manipulators

Every year you can use your manipulators 1x each. You use the selected cube without changing it, with the value +1 or -1 for your action and all side actions.

Towers

If you are allowed to take a tower, you always have the choice between all the towers. You place it above a port (each port has space for a tower).

You can upgrade a tower just like a town platelet with a new tower.

a) Military Tower

Military towers can provide space for figures.

The towers are occupied just like barracks.

b) Trade Tower

Trade towers allow the exchange of figures if the value of the selected cube matches the value on the trading tower (the cube color does not matter here):

You pull 3 or 4 new figures and then cast the same number of figures.

This can also be the straight-drawn figures.

A trading tower takes 2 steps on the aqueduct during construction.

Privileges

Privileges either bring a lasting advantage:

For you, a certain character is considered a joker for all 4 characters. If you have 2x an identical privilege with a lasting advantage, all your characters are Joker.

or

they bring you a unique advantage:

Place stars from your stock on expedition path or development bar, steps on the aqueduct or sending them to any plate + 2 stars.

These privileges are executed either immediately or in a later train.

On the aqueduct you move your supply ring, which indicates the value of your infrastructure shortage at the end of the year.

You can move up to field 10. For each further step, you can swap 2 figures, but hide in field 10.

Events at the end of year

After the season boat reaches the field of the 5th season and all your actions have taken, one year ends.

2 events are performed in succession and beginning with the starter in the clockwise direction:

a) Germanenüberfall

You can check if you can defy the Germanene robbery:

You add the strength of the two open German platelets and compare them with your own strength.

Your strength corresponds to the number of figures on all your barracks/military towers that are completely occupied.

If you reach at least the same level, you will receive the reward printed on the right German platelet.

If you do not reach the strength of the Germans, you will suffer the damage printed on the left German platelet.

b) lack of infrastructure

You set the value of your infrastructure shortage.

To do this, you count all the infrastructure symbols that can be seen on your map.

Decrees, urban extensions, city plates or stars can cover some of them.

Each field of your city platelets/military towers where there are no figures increases this value by 1.

The field on which your supply ring is located (aqueduct) indicates how much this value is reduced.

According to your lack of infrastructure, you need to follow figures.

Lastly, all the figures are removed from town plates and military towers, which are completely covered with figures.

Figures on not yet fully occupied urban plates remain there.

New Year

It's 4. Year not yet finished, the town plates of the top row are removed, all the town plates move up a row and missing urban plates of the lining are filled up.

All manipulators will be reusable, the seasonal boat comes back to the field of the first season, the two open German platelets are removed and the left German platelet is exposed.

Whoever owns most figures in his stock becomes a new starter.

Playing

As soon as you manage to have no characters in your stock at any time during the game, you win immediately.

Otherwise you win when you end up the 4th. Year and the two events at the end of the year have the fewest figures in your stock (not on the town platelets/doors).

In case of a balance, you will win with the fewest figures on your city platelets/doors.
