LessIsMore is a rate game for 3 - 6 players. In each round a player becomes a rat. The other players receive a term (collective word), which they now try to describe with as few letters as possible. For example, to explain "Banktresor", players could write "Geldhaus Wardrobe Safe". Or maybe just "Money Schrnk sichr" because the players can also leave letters out of words. The rat tries to guess with the help of the hints.
The player who needs the least letter and at the same time is "understood" by the rat gets points together with the rat. Who has the most points in the end wins the game.
You will find the complete rules here.
The starter chooses a difficulty level: green (light), yellow (medium) or pink (smooth).
The fellow players now see a compound word they should describe.
Now all hints try to describe the term at the same time. To do this, all one or more words are written on their board using the keyboard.
The words can also be written in a shortened manner, leaving letters away. Each clerk may shorten his description as desired, as it seems reasonable to him (and hopefully to the rat).
The less letters a player uses, the sooner he can show his advice to the rat and the more points there are for it.
The number of words does not matter, and spaces do not count.
The guide with the lowest number can now first show its description to the rat.
The rat can now try to guess with this description the intended term.
If the rat does not reveal the term, the description of the clerk is revealed with the next higher number. Then the one with the next higher number etc.
The same number of letters follows the sequence of seats.
If the rat does not reveal the term even after all the descriptions of the clerks, all clerks receive 1 point. The rat does not get points in this case.
If he has guessed correctly, only the rat and the clue get points with the successful description.
If the rat is right after the first description, both get as many points as there are players.
For each clerk whose description he does not advise, the rat (and the clerk) gets a point less.
In addition, there are extra points, depending on the difficulty of the term:
GREEN (INCE):0, GROWTH (MITTEE):1, PINK (MAINING):2
The guide, with whose description the rat could guess the term, always receives the same points as the rat.
If all clerks think that the term has been guessed correctly, even if the spelling of the rat does not exactly match the given word, all click on "Request" and then in the opening window click on "JA" in "The term that is guessed by the rat is correct - then this rate attempt is evaluated as successful.
No words or abbreviations which are identical to the term to be guessed or its word master may be used. For example, if the term “writing machine” is sought, it is not possible to use the word “writing” as a description.
This applies to any form of the word and therefore words such as “write, write, write, write” would also not be allowed to “write” because it is the same word master.
Foreign language translations are not allowed.
If there is an error and a clerk has violated the rules, all click on "Request" and then in the opening window at "The term from the clerk is allowed" on "NO" and the round is terminated immediately.
This can happen because an indicator has for example written down the intended term and/or the word master of the term or a translation.
All players except the hint that made the mistake will get 2 points. Then a new card is pulled and the round is repeated.
There are so many rounds played until every player once was a rat. Then the game ends and it wins the player with most points.
