On each turn you carry out the following steps in turn:

  1. You remove a merchant face down your bag.

  3. Then you select any merchant from the fountain and put it in your bag. This ends your turn.
  4. If there are merchants of the same color in the gate areas, they are pushed together into the well area.

Gate fields

If you place a merchant on one of the four gate fields you receive:

  1. A resource in the color of the respective gate.
  2. Resources in the colors of the merchants at the gate. One resource for each merchant.

In addition, all resource bonuses from your lands are paid out.

The golden Lydian merchant

If you place a Lydian merchant at a gate or if there is already one there, you may also use the resources in the color of the Exchange Tors for coins.

You are only allowed to own as many lands as you have "unlocked" on your influence track. (3 / 5 / 8 / 9 and more)

Well field

If you send your merchant into the well space in the middle of the game board, you can acquire new lands (2) or upgrade your own lands (4).

In order to acquire or upgrade a country you must be able to pay the cost of resources (usually 3 resources or money) in the upper area of ​​the map.

  1. You can purchase as many lands as you want, but they must all come from one of the 4 areas.
  2. You can always upgrade as many of the lands you own as you like You can afford.

Coins always count as a joker for any resource.

Influence bar and bonuses

Bonus

Whenever one of your resources reaches the value 6, You will immediately receive a bonus and you can choose either:

End of the Game

The game ends when a player has reached the required number of upgraded lands and all other players have made one last turn.

Currently three additional modules of the game have been implemented and can be activated via the options.

Croesus - King Croesus

If you place a merchant at the gate where the king is, you may immediately take an additional resource of the gate's color. You then move King Croesus to another gate of your choice.

Courtyards

< p> At the start of your turn, after you draw a merchant from your bag, you may play your courtyard merchant instead of the one you drew. The merchant from the bag is placed on your empty courtyard tile and can be used on a later turn. This means that on each subsequent turn you have a reserve merchant in your courtyard that you can use instead of the merchant you drew.

Guild - Craftsmen's Guild

To place a craftsman at a gate, you select a merchant there whom you “copy”. Now carry out the actions as usual as if your craftsman had the same color as the merchant you copied (including gaining all resources and card bonuses.
