Pantheon takes players into antiquity, where they compete in six eras with different races for the favor of the Gods. It is always best to consider whether you are better to first sacrifice to the gods, collect cards from the board or collect bonus tiles and build columns. Whoever finds the best balance by the end of the game is rewarded by the gods of a glorious victory.
These rules are principally to help with the game interface. For further details look German Rules. In addition, there is a German Video by the publisher.
In the player dashboard the following details are shown from top to bottom:
In the display for acquired god tiles, the symbols correspond to the symbols from the top right of the god tiles is summarized. From top to bottom they are as follows:
The properties of the gods are explained in the God Tiles page.
The little box must be clicked in the top left of Traitera to activate it.
If you move your mouse over the Civilization Display (13), it enlarges.
You can see which civilizations have already been played and the current civilization.
The special gold card stack is sorted from smallest to largest.
The demi-gods tiles are placed randomly with the 4/5/6 value tiles at the bottom and the 1/2/3 value tiles on top.
BSW automatically provides the correct amount of booty tiles dependent on the selection of 2/3/4 players
With 2/3/4 players receives 6/5/4 feet and one column less than feet in their color. They thus receive five (action) cards. At the beginning of the game each player must choose a bonus tile.
The game is played over six epochs. Each epoch has three civilization periods:
After the third and sixth epoch scoring takes place. After the second score, the game ends.
Preparations of epoch are executed in the following order (1-3 happens simultaneously in BSW):
The action phase is the main phase of the game. Each player in turn has the option to choose one of four actions and execute:
If you want to draw cards, choose the globe icon (the back of the card graphic).
Click on any of the available cards in the display or on the deck (blind cards). A display of how many cards you have taken is shown.
Complete this action by clicking on the arrow.
You can make a movement by using up movement cards (C) and place feet and/or columns on the game board, each card counts as two movement points. To do this choose the foot symbol in the selection window.
Click on as many movement cards in your hand that you want play.
Thus the number of possible moves is displayed in the small feet action window. The player who has chosen this action gets an extra movement point. All other players may make a movement action after the top player has finished their movement turn. They have to play movement cards to move. If they do not want to perform the action, click on the little arrow in the Action window. Not performing the movement action provides 1 action card from the deck.
The active player has clicked on two of his three movement cards and therefore has five movement points available (2 cards = 4 +1 movement points as they selected the action).
For the movement action of the following rules apply:
If you have gold cards in hand, you can purchase. For this you choose the money symbol.
Select/clicks on the gold cards you wish to use.
The small action each window will display how much money you have available for purchasing. You can buy:
Here the player has already used up two of the four gold.
To purchase sacrifice tiles, click one of the icon you want:
Available tiles are displayed with the corresponding costs. To purchase simply clicks on the desired level. You can purchase a higher level, if you have sufficient gold as it is possible to buy multiple sacrifice tile levels.
Basically: You can buy mix of all, as long as you have enough gold.
So you can for example purchase a column, place two feet on the map and buy a sacrifice tile level I and increase another sacrifice tile from level II to III. This example would cost seven gold (1 + 2 + 1 + 3).
Another available action is to acquire one of the available god tiles from those available (4). To purchase a god tile, you must be able to provide a big enough sacrifice. The sacrifices required are displayed on the left side of the tile.
To secure the favor of Stonkus, you have to provide a sacrifice of all four types: 4 from one type, 3 from another and 1 from the other two types of sacrifice either from cards in hand or from sacrifice tiles.
Example: Stokus : Use a "temple" Level III tile + discard a "temple" card, use a "dancer" Level I + two "dancer" cards, a "gift" Level I tile and discard a "priest" card.
If you want to purchase a tile gods, you click the icon with the sacrifices. It will open two adjacent action windows.
First select the god tile you wish to acquire.
The selected gods tile now moves to the small window. The left panel shows the number of existing sacrifices available, in this example everything still shows as zero. Click on your available sacrifices from the cards in hand until Stonkus has been paid for.
You can complete your action by clicking on the arrow. Yellow god tiles will be executed immediately.
You will score as many points as the era in which you are currently for each god tile acquired.
Basically, for gods tiles:
An overview of all gods tiles are shown there here.
The action phase ends when either the last booty tiles or the last god tile has been taken from the board. The active player gets to complete his action and so gets three victory points . The next player now becomes the starting player.
Then, a new epoch begins with a new civilization.
After the third and sixth epoch a scoring takes place. Points are awarded for all demi-gods a player has. In addition a score is given for columns placed on the board. For 1-3/4-7/8-11/12 columns of a players color on the board a score per column of 1/2/3/4 points is given.
so for example a player has six columns on the board, he is awarded by 6 x 2 = 12 points.
The game ends after the second scoring. The player with the most points wins. In case of a tie, the player with the most number of demi-god tokens wins. If there is still a tie, there are multiple winners.
The start bonus tiles will be drawn at random.
