Who has the fastest car? Who has the best nose and who can best use their influence to tactic things? Top Race is about getting as much money as possible out of a car race in order to win the game.
The players buy cars at auction and move theirs and other people's cars with help of your hand cards and make profits/losses by betting on the winner of the race.
The status window at the bottom left of the playing field shows at all times which player's turn it is to perform which action. If the left flag is green, it is your turn.
If you move the mouse over the field with the flags, you can see which cars belong to which player and how much money every player had left after the auction.
At the beginning, the 6 racing cars are auctioned off to the other players in a random order. Each player receives $200,000 in starting capital.
The auction starts at $10,000 and players can increase the bid by $10,000 or more each in any order (by clicking on increase the price shown below. You can always read the current bid directly under the picture of the car. Only when the remaining players have passed is the next car auctioned.
A player can auction several cars, but each player receives at least one car.
If the last car is offered and a player does not yet have a car, he must pay a fixed price of $30,000 for it.
The cars are placed on the starting fields in the order in which they were purchased.
To view your own hand cards, move the mouse into the narrow strip at the bottom of the screen. When it's your turn, you have to play one of these cards. To select, simply click on the corresponding card.
Using the middle card, you move the yellow car forward by 6 spaces, the white car by 4, the red by 2 and the green by 1. The vehicles are always moved from top to bottom in the order shown on the map. In this example, first yellow, then white, then red and finally green.
Once you have selected a card , it appears enlarged on the screen. It can be moved with drag&drop.
Flags appear on the game board to move the cars. They show the possible target fields of the respective move. To move a car, click the mouse over one of the target flags, which then turns red. To pull the car to the desired destination, simply click on the now red flag.
On some maps you can see a white car. This is a wild card. To the right you get a selection of the possible colors that can be selected. By clicking on the selected color, the white joker car will be replaced by the selected color. However, you cannot choose a color that is already on the card.
This map shows two wagons and a double arrow. The card only applies to exactly these two colors. The player has two options to use the card:
1. He can move the car that is further ahead to the edge of the road. This must remain there until the car of the other color has overtaken it.
2. He can pull the wagon that is further back to the front of the other wagon and place it on a space next to it.
An example:
1. By clicking on the green car, it will be placed at the edge of the road until the black car has overtaken it. The green cart cannot be moved until then.
2. By clicking on the flag behind the green car, the black car is pulled directly behind the green one (next to this is not possible here because there is only one driving stiffener).
You can use the card constructively or destructively.
As soon as a car is the first to cross one of the three betting marks, all players must immediately place a bet. The betting window appears for each player.
In the first betting round you click in the first row, in the second round in the second row and in the last betting round the third. You bet on the car that you believe will be the first to reach the destination.
Here, in the first round of betting, the player bet on yellow as the winner . However, in the second round of betting he changes his mind and bets on red.
The bets are settled accordingly according to the final placement of the bet color.

b) Winnings/losses from betting (see Settlement table above)

With the 'stockmarket' option you no longer own any cars yourself; rather, at the beginning you auction the order of play and the purchase of a hand card from the selection (see. Fig)
During the game, a stock phase is now inserted at the end of each game round. There you can and must (secretly) distribute two minus arrows and two plus arrows and then confirm with "ok".
At the end of the game, the stock value is multiplied by the place value to get the final one result.
Ensures a fairer card distribution
