Sankt Petersburg (Saint Petersburg)

Nobles, please oblige!

To the 1,200 supporters, it is thanks to them that this famous classic game returns with a new look, here in BSW.

At "Saint Petersburg" Above all, it's always about money - and as we all know, that's usually tight. To progress in the city and with over 100 cards, players must go through five phases in which they buy, buy, buy - if they can! In the first phase the ruble rolls mainly for 'craftsmen'. In the second phase, the new market comes into play, which with its new mechanics opens up further resources to generate points and rubles. Then 'buildings' bring the desired victory points. Surprisingly, 'nobles' are less valuable during the game, as one might expect in the fourth phase, but they have the greater leverage, as shown at the end of the game. There is nothing at all in the fifth and final phase, in which the 'superstructure cards' play an important role, but no one can afford to do without them completely...

The revival of "Saint Petersburg" also includes a number of special cards that have specific functions. A "goldsmiths" that lower the price of "noble" or "carpenter" which lower the price of buildings. Unlike real life, the "tax collector" is popular because it provides extra gold.

The 'Foreign Minister' is also new, with his card portrait by the two illustrators Anne Pätzke and Irene Bressel "Saint Petersburg" author Bernd Brunnhofer has set a small 'monument'. However, the Hans im Glück boss and the co-author Karl-Heinz Schmiel are not the only ones who can be found on individual cards in the new edition: crowdfunders and scene insiders who have made a special contribution to the implementation of the complete revision, appear as 'exchange nobles' and lend their faces to the 'court mistress', the 'abbot' or the 'architect', among others. A nice nod to dedicated "gaming VIPs" that could set a precedent.

Saint Petersburg won the German Games Prize 2004 and was nominated for Game of the Year 2004. < /p>
