Fans of the successful game Carcassonne waited longingly for this game. Carcassonne, Hunters and Gatherers, is the successor to the Game of the Year 2001. The tactics of this game are clearly different from it's predecessor. The player who completes certain forests takes an extra turn and plays from a special deck. The game now becomes more constructional, as it may perhaps be an incentive to close someone else's forest. This special deck includes some extra features with different scoring mechanisms. The rivers were clearly modeled on the roads in the original game.

It will be very interesting to see what the Carcassonne stable will design next.
